ARE YOU
SHY?
SOH
Productions
You
know I used to
by shy. I was really shy. People don’t
believe me now, but I really was. I could talk to one person at a time,
but if
there were three people or four, I just couldn’t. I was like that for
many
years as a matter of fact.
I think
we’re all shy to some degree. I don’t know what
helped me to get over it, except that I got to thinking, what shyness
really is
pretty much being into yourself.
I
was so shy I was always worried about what people thought
about me, how do I look? So that’s thinking about me. If you’re
thinking about
yourself, you can’t think of others.
Somewhere
along the way I guess I just figured out that I
was gonna be happier thinking a little more about others and thinking a
little
less about me. At least, I felt better with myself, because being shy
was a
crippler.
I
was really limiting myself, by holding on to that shyness,
and then I realized that by not giving a damn, pretty much, but in a
good way,
what people thought about me, that I was just happier. It took a load
off my
shoulders.
You
really don’t have to be shy. Just have fun. Don’t worry
about what people think of you. They’ll love you. They’ll love you to
the
degree that you’re just being real, being yourself.
