LOVE IS
SAYING YOU'RE SORRY
SOH
Productions
In
an old movie,
there was a phrase that was coined, “Love
is never having to say you’re sorry.” In a sense that’s true, but in
another
sense love IS saying you’re sorry.
If you
love someone you say, “I love you.” If you step on
someone’s toe you say, “Oh, sorry,” or you should anyway.
Do unto
others as you would have them do unto you. That’s
what Jesus told us, and that really is the essence of love, isn’t it,
doing
unto others as we would have people do unto us.
I think
it makes all of us feel good when we feel injured or
slighted by someone or something they said or something they did, it
sure means
a lot, it sure does a lot of good to hear those magic words, “Sorry.”
I think
it’s sad that people seem to consider that a
weakness. How totally wrong that is. Love is saying, “I’m sorry.” Those
two
magic words can mend many a mess. I think we all need to learn to use
them more
often, to be more loving to those around us.
Let’s be
more generous in our apologies, without excuses.
Let’s be more generous with our, “I’m sorries.” Let’s be more loving,
considerate, and kind to those around us and truly do as Jesus said,
“Do unto
others as we would have them do unto us.”
God bless you.
