THE YARDSTICK
SOH
Productions
When it really
gets down to it, what is life
really about for a true Christian? The yardstick is simple. How much we
let Him
rule and reign in our lives. How yielded we are, to the Lord.
Now, many people
think this means keeping a list of “do’s”... or rather a list of
“don’ts”. But
God isn't as concerned about what we do, or what we don't do, as much
as He is
with how yielded we are to Him! How loving we are in our lives. How
caring, and
giving: How yielded.
Someone once said that the first requirement for finding
God's will is to have no will of our own. How true that is. And the
hardest
thing to yield is our mind, our thoughts.
The Bible says that God's thoughts
are not our thoughts, neither are His ways our ways. That means that
our
natural reasoning, our natural way of putting two and two together is
not the
way God often times sees things. In fact, He more often than not I have
found
sees things differently from how we see them.
That's why the Bible exhorts us
to put on the mind of Christ. And the only way we can do this is by
seeking Him
in prayer, yielding our spirits to His, and giving up our own wills.
Then, and
only then, will He be able to live and move and think in us, ---work
THROUGH
us, for His glory.
