RESIST NOT EVIL?
SOH
Productions
Jesus said:
"Resist not evil, but rather
overcome evil with good." Imagine that. He actually once said to not do
anything against evil. How different the world is today. The prevalent
attitude
is to stand up to evil, stand up to injustices, stand up for the right.
Now,
these things of course sound good to most of us. All of these things
seem like
worthy enough causes. But, I think we are not fully getting what Jesus
had to
say.
I think we are maybe missing out on something bigger, something higher,
and ultimately more satisfying and longer lasting. And that is, that,
the only
way to get rid of darkness... is to turn on a light.
Mankind nowadays is hungry
for a glimpse of hope, a ray of light. Everywhere you look we are
tearing
ourselves apart with contention, with discord, fussing and fighting and
strife.
And we will never find the peace we all seek, until we stop trying to
chase
away the darkness with force.
We will never be truly satisfied as long as we
keep trying To MAKE others be like we want them to be because
ultimately change
has to come from WITHIN. Change is a choice. And that choice has to
come at an
individual and personal level when a person, or rather because a person
sees
that it is to his advantage to do so!
Change... REAL change will come when we
realize that it is to our greater mutual benefit to do so. You can't
FORCE
people to "be good". And as long as we maintain our present course...
as long as we keep our present attitude of the need to "fight evil",
to "beat out the darkness" and make people do what we think they
should, we won't get anywhere. We will just continue this never ending
problem... actually making it worse.
As we all know, Jesus said to do unto
others as we want them to do to us. And that is all about being what WE
individually need to be, instead of expecting the other guy to do it.
We need
to all get together and help each other. I see no other solution, at a
personal
level, at a family level, as a nation, and as a world.
