TURNING BLESSINGS INTO PRAYERS
SOH
Productions
Since
when have
we omitted God from our blessings for people? People used to say, “God
bless
you,” especially when somebody sneezed. Remember that?
Now you hear people saying, “Bless you,” without
adding the God part. It’s funny, but just saying the words, “Bless
you,” to me
at least, somehow just doesn’t do much.
I mean, “Bless you,” what does that
mean? Who is blessing who? I guess that might mean that the person is
extending
his blessings to you. I guess that is a kind gesture. But if you ask
me, I
would much rather have a blessing from God.
And I believe that
if we
say, “God
bless you,” to people, and if when we do that if we utter a silent
prayer to
God for Him to bless that person, that He will do it. I believe that
they will
receive a blessing from the Lord in some way, just because we turned
our
little, “God bless you,” into a prayer.
I believe in the
power of
prayer
because I have seen it work in my life as well as in the lives of
others. Let’s
put God back into our greetings and glorify Him to whom glory is due!
